Tiny Sailors
Ages 5-8
Monday though Friday, 9:00-12:00 OR 12:30-3:30
Sign your kid up for this camp if:
  • they have never sailed before
  • they have sailed, but only on a big boat with their adults
  • they are 8 and a little bit nervous about taking a full-day sailing camp
This is our cutest camp, designed to get very young future sailors comfortable on the water and around boats. The focus is on fun and safety. Activities may include swimming, sailing with an instructor, learning about the bay, and more.
Students are required to complete a swim check on the first day of camp. Students should be confident either jumping off the dock or climbing into the water via the dock ladder. A dog-paddle is an adequate level of swimming ability.

Sailing Adventure Camp (Formerly Beginner & Intermediate)
Ages 8-12
Monday though Friday, 9:00-3:30
Sign your kid up for this camp if:
  • they have never sailed before
  • they have sailed, but only on a big boat with their adults
  • they have taken a beginner class at SYC or elsewhere
  • they are somewhere in between beginner and intermediate skill level
  • they are a solidly intermediate level sailor who is not interested in racing

This is our beginner and intermediate sailing camp for kids aged 8-13. Students will learn the basics of sailing paired together in RS Teras. As they get confident in the boat and master basic skills, they will progress to sailing their own boat and learning intermediate skills. Students may take this camp for several seasons before progressing to a Learn to Race camp or aging into a teen camp.
Students are required to complete a capsize recovery lesson and swim check (while wearing their life jacket and wetsuit) on the first day of camp. Students should be confident either jumping off the dock or climbing into the water via the dock ladder. A dog-paddle is an adequate level of swimming ability.


Learn to Race / Race Team
Ages 9+
Monday though Friday, 9:00-3:30
Sign your kid up for this camp if:
  • they have mastered beginner and intermediate sailing skills
  • they have a competitive nature and will enjoy the challenge of learning to make their boat go fast
  • their coach and/or the Sailing Director has recommended it as their next step

This is our Learn to Race & Race Team sailing camp for kids aged 9 and up. Sailors must have experience and be excited about competition. Optional weekend regattas are offered by local yacht clubs- schedule tbd.
Students are required to demonstrate their confidence capsizing their boat on the first day of camp.


Teen Beginner/Intermediate
Ages 12+
Monday though Friday, 9:00-3:30

  • they have never sailed before
  • they have sailed, but only on a big boat with adults or friends
  • they have taken a beginner class at SYC or elsewhere
  • they are somewhere in between beginner and intermediate skill level
  • they are a solidly intermediate level sailor who is not interested in racing

This is our beginner and intermediate sailing camp for kids aged 12 and up. Students will learn the basics of sailing paired together in FJs. This is a great way to prepare your teen for high school sailing.

High School Sailing Camp / FJs
Entering grades 9 and up
Monday though Friday, 9:00-3:30

  • they are interested in participating in their high school sailing team
  • they have any level of sailing experience
  • they have a competitive nature and will enjoy the challenge of learning to make their boat go fast
  • their coach and/or the Sailing Director has recommended it as their next step

This is our high school sailing summer program for high schoolers who wish to either learn more about high school sailing or improve their skills. Boats sailed will be FJs which are most commonly sailed in high school and college. Experience is not required but sailors must be excited about the idea of competition. Students are required to complete a capsize recovery practice/lesson on the first day of camp.


Required Gear for all camps:
  • Wetsuit- 2/3mm or 3/4 mm full wetsuit recommended
  • Swimsuit worn under wetsuit
  • Close-toed shoes that can get wet
  • Life jacket
  • Helmet *SYC provided
  • Lunch for full day camps and snack for half day camps
  • Reusable water bottle
  • Sun protection- sunglasses, hat, sunscreen
Cancelation Policy
Refunds minus credit card and processing fees are given up to a week (7 days) before your class starts. Within the 7 days leading up to a class you can request a 50% refund.  Once your child particpates in a class, refunds must be submitted in writing and are not quaranteed. Refunds for any participant affected by closures for any reason will be assessed on a case-by-case basis under the circumstances, with the understanding that refunds may be appropriate for services cut short or cancelled.
