The 9-foot Tera is the new standard in youth sail training. The RS Tera is specifically designed for junior sailors under 5’4” and 120lbs in weight. We offer Tera classes for beginners (Level 1, first summer sessions), and intermediates (Level 2, after completing one summer session). At the beginner level students learn the basics of sailing such was wind direction, safety and seamanship, basic sailing knots, sail trim, and steering.  Before moving on to intermediates sailors need to demonstrate the use of the tiller extension, being comfortable when capsizing, proper docking, and points of sail.  Depending on age some students take this class twice.

This program gives youth sailors who have previously been a part of our programs access to boats and a chance to get on the water and enjoy sailing. There is no formal instruction for this class. Therefore this is not a 'learn to sail' program. You must have previous sailing experience with our program. This is for youth only. Available boats will include 1 Laser and RS Teras with a large or small sail. Double-handed boats may be available depending on Marin County Covid regulations. Supervision and certified instructors in motor boats will be provided. Particpants are required to register for the entire session- no prorating if you cannot make one of the scheduled days.

Our Spring sessions run February through May. These sessions are divided into beginner, intermediate and advanced groups, and are intended to help kids maintain what they have learned over the summer and continue to develop skill and technique throughout the school year. Dates and times vary per class.  Specifics on dates and pricing will be updated seasonally.
