SPRING SAILING PROGRAM 2020

The Fall sessions run September through October. These sessions are divided into intermediate and advanced groups, and are intended to help kids maintain what they have learned over the summer and continue to develop skill and technique throughout the school year. Dates and times vary per class.  Specifics on dates and pricing are available below and through our ClubSpot registration system which can be accessed throught the above link.

Adventure Tera Class
Ages 8-12. This class is for those who have some prior sailing exerpience and want to continue enjoying the water during the off season.  Class run on Saturday and Sunday mornings with two different sessions.  We sometimes allow Beginner level children to join this class, but parents must obtain prior approval from the Youth Sailing Director.

Session 1:  Saturdays 9:30am-12:30pm

Specific Class Dates: Feb 29,  March 14, 21, April, 4, 11, 25

Session 2: Sundays 9:30am-12:30pm

Specific Class Dates: March 1, 15, 22, April 5, 12, 25 (Last day is on a Saturday due to Opening Day)

Session 3:  Saturdays 9:30am-12:30pm

Specific Class Dates:  May 2, 9, 16, 23

Double Handed CFJ Class
Ages 13-18.  This class is for those who have some prior experience but are older or too big for a small Tera.  We use our double handed 13' CFJs which have two sails and use two sailors per boat.  This is a good class for those interested in high school sailing or a future competing in an advanced 420.  Children under the age of 14 can take this class with prior approval from the Youth Sailing Director.

Intro to 420

Session 1:  Wednesdays 3:15-6:00 & Saturday 9:30-12:30

Specific Class Dates:  April 29, May 2, 6, 9, 13, 16

All participants must have prior sailing experience and an interest in learning how to race in a 420.  This class is designed for sailors who know the basics of sailing, and have spent time racing competitively. Students will learn the basics of using a trapeze and a spinnaker.  This type of sailing is best suited for individuals ranging in height of 5'5" - 5'9" and a weight of 110-170.
